MEMORANDUM NO. 96-57

Subject:Benefit Change for Managers and Confidentials and Executives - Mileage Reimbursement Rate

  1. AUTHORITY

    In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes 5-200(p), the Commissioner of Administrative Services (DAS) with the approval of the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management has extended the following benefit to all Managerial and Confidential employees in the MP and MD pay plans and to Executives.

    Effective July 7, 1996 the mileage reimbursement rate for employees using personally owned vehicles for official State business will be increased from 30 cents per mile to 31 cents per mile. Use of personally owned vehicles must be properly authorized in accordance with DAS General Letter No. 115 "Policies Governing the Use of State Owned Motor Vehicles and Personally Owned Motor Vehicles Used on State Business."

  2. RETROACTIVE PAYMENTS

    Travel that was performed on or after July 7, 1996 should be reimbursed at the new rate of 31 cents. The following procedure applies when requesting retroactive reimbursement:

    1. A new CO-17XP (Employee Voucher) must be completed for the retroactive amount. Indicate on the CO-17XP that this is a "RETROACTIVE MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT ADJUSTMENT".

    2. Attach copies of the original CO-17XP.

    3. Submit a separate Expenditure Batch List for all retroactive mileage reimbursement claims.
