General Fund Operating Surplus/Deficit (millions of dollars)

This is a graph that shows the General Fund Operating Surplus/Deficit in millions of dollars. All Governmental Funds represent the total for all of Connecticut's governmental operations. In 1989 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 220 million-dollar deficit. In 1990 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 442 million-dollar deficit.In 1991 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 890 million-dollar deficit. In 1992 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 77 million-dollar deficit. In 1993 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 93 million-dollar surplus. In 1994 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 51 million-dollar surplus. In 1995 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 242 million-dollar deficit.  In 1996 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 198 million-dollar surplus.  In 1997 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 252 million-dollar surplus. In 1998 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 389 million-dollar surplus. In 1999 the General Fund ended the Fiscal Year with a 169 million-dollar surplus.
