Hazardous Duty Appendix Data Base

The Hazardous Duty Appendix was generated as a result of the 1988 - 1994 Pension Arbitration Award and was first provided to state agencies as an attachment to a Retirement Services Division memorandum dated January 17, 1990. The Appendix lists all state job classifications which have been designated as covered under the hazardous duty provisions of the State Employees Retirement System. In some circumstances the job classifications may be covered under hazardous duty provisions only when used at certain state agencies and facilities. Since January 1990 a number of changes and additions have been made to the Appendix. Job classifications covered under collective bargaining are added to the Hazardous Duty Appendix pursuant to the decisions of the State and the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) pension agreement's grievance process, the Pension Grievance Committee. Job classifications not covered under collective bargaining are added under the authority of Connecticut General Statutes, Section 5-200(p) by approval of the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and the Commissioner of the Department of Administrative Services with the exception of managerial classifications at the Department of Corrections which are approved by the State Employees Retirement Commission.

The links below will bring you to the most current version of the Appendix and allow you to search the data by either the job classification title or job classification code (four digit numeric code), and view a report.
