COMPTROLLER LEMBO'S STATEMENT ON ConnPIRG REPORT THAT RANKS CT AMONG TOP STATES IN ONLINE FINANCIAL TRANSPARENCY

Thursday, April 26, 2018

State Comptroller Kevin Lembo issued a statement on a report released this week by ConnPIRG Education Fund that ranks Connecticut among the top states in online access to government spending data.

"This report once again recognizes Connecticut as one of the top-ranked states in open government for its online access to government spending information," Lembo said. "Taxpayers and policy makers deserve immediate and full access to government financial information, because facts and truth should be driving our decisions and debates. My office has worked to deliver real-time information on Open Connecticut about state spending, revenue and checkbook-level data - but we're excited about more projects to be announced in the near future. Connecticut may be among the leaders in open government, but we won't stop until Connecticut is the most open and accountable state in the country."
