Subject: Annual Increments for State Police Training Academy Classes
  1. AUTHORITY: In accordance with a Supplemental Understanding between the State of Connecticut and the Connecticut State Police Union (NP-1) a uniform schedule of Annual Increment dates for Trooper Trainees will be established. This Supplemental Understanding was received in the Legislature on March 12, 1998 and became effective on April 11, 1998.
  1. AGREEMENT: Article 19, Section One (e) of the 1995-99 NP-1 contract is modified to include: Effective with the State Police 106th Training Academy Class all members of this class and subsequent classes will have one uniform anniversary date (July or January) regardless of any prior state service. The establishment of a single anniversary (July or January) date for annual increment purposes will be accomplished according to past practice, except as modified.
    1. The 106th Training Academy Class began on February 14, 1997 and will have an effective anniversary date of January 1, 1998.
    2. The 107th Training Academy Class began on January 9, 1998 and will have an effective anniversary increase date of January 1, 1999.
  2. PAYMENT SCHEDULE:A retroactive annual increment payment is due for the 106th Training Academy Class, if it has not already been paid, as follows:

    Retroactive Annual Increments should be paid in the pay period April 24, 1998 through May 7, 1998, for check dated May 22, 1998.

    Agency staff must calculate and process the retroactive payments for the period December 19, 1997 through April 23, 1998 manually.

    All other Annual Increments will be paid on schedule.

  3. PAYROLL PROCEDURES
    1. Retroactive Annual Increments

      Online: Screens 047 or 190, R1; Amount, D/OE Code 10.

    2. Annual Increments

      Annual Increments will be entered centrally for agencies on the Automated Personnel System (APS) at the proper time.

      Agency staff must ensure that the employee's masterfile data are correctly coded.
