Stipulated Agreement - NP-6/P-1 Bargaining Units |
- PURPOSE: This memorandum serves as an addendum to Memorandum No. 97-36 dated June 16, 1997 to provide
information on a stipulated agreement concerning the NP-6 and P-1 bargaining units.
- STIPULATED AGREEMENT: In a stipulated agreement dated
November 5, 1997, the Office of Labor Relations, State of Connecticut, and the New England
Health Care Employees Union District 1199 reached an understanding concerning the
allowance of conference and workshop funds. Article 35, Section Six, Conference and
Workshop Funds, provides that an employee will be entitled to a maximum of $500
reimbursement per contract year for appropriate costs related to attendance at conferences
and/or workshops and that the entitlement may be combined once in any two-year period. The
new language in the stipulated agreement states, "In the event that an individual is
approved for this combined expenditure in a two year period and the expenditure is less
than $1000 the balance remaining may be available in the second year of the two year
period for an additional approved program".

An employee requests approval for $700. If the employee is approved
for the combined expenditure, since the expenditure is less than $1000, $300 is available
for an additional approved program during the following year.
