ADDENDUM

TO THE HEADS OF ALL STATE AGENCIES

ATTENTION: Chief Administrative and Fiscal Officers, Business Managers, and Payroll and Personnel Officers
SUBJECT: Agreement for Correction (NP-4) Bargaining Unit Employees - Additional Information
  1. PURPOSE

    To clarify payroll procedures for lump sum payments and to provide additional information regarding provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

  2. CLARIFICATION

    Section IV A - Payroll Procedures for the Lump Sum Payment Lump sum payments are subject to mandatory deductions; i.e., federal withholding tax, state income tax annualized, social security tax, retirement contributions, and garnishments (if applicable).

  3. ARTICLE 22 - HOLIDAYS

    1. Article 22.4B

      Effective July 1, 1998, each employee whose job requires him/her to work on a holiday other than Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, or Washington's Birthday, and who works as scheduled on a holiday which falls on his/her regular work day will receive a day's pay at straight time in addition to his/her week's pay.

    2. Article 22.5B

      Effective July 1, 1998 each employee whose job requires him/her to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day, will be paid at the rate of time and one-half his/her regular hourly pay for the day.

    3. Article 22.6B

      Effective July 1, 1998 each employee whose job requires him/her to work on Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, or Washington's Birthday will be paid at the rate of time and one-half his/her regular hourly rate for all hours worked on the holiday in addition to his/her regular pay for the day.

    4. Article 22.8

      1. Employees who are assigned to areas that require (7) day coverage, for purposes of Article 22, Holidays, will observe holidays as follows:

        Christmas Day December 25
        New Year's Day January 1
        Independence Day July 4

        All other holidays will be observed on the dates designated by the State.

      2. Holidays for all other employees will be observed on the dates designated by the State.

  4. ARTICLE 30 - VACATIONS
    Article 30(c)

    Employees who are assigned to work schedules which contain daily tours of eight hours and fifteen minutes will, upon separation or retirement from State service, have accrued vacation leave pay computed based on a standard eight hour and fifteen minute work day.
