Meeting Called to Order by Tom Woodruff
Financials and Dashboard - Milliman presented the monthly dashboard report for financials. Prescription drug costs continue to run higher than expected, although it was reported that the trend was starting to slow down for the active and early retiree population. It was reported that the medical costs ran high for March 2014. Staff projected a significant shortfall in the retiree appropriation for fiscal year 2015 which will need to be monitored closely.
Partnership and Pooling - Comptroller's staff reported that 4 new groups will be joining the CT Partnership Plan effective 7/1/15. The University of Connecticut graduate assistants will be joining the plan effective 9/1/15. There is pending legislation SB 913 on the Governor's desk.
Comptroller's staff reported that 28 open enrollment fairs had taken place and 7 more scheduled for this week.
Tom announced that an RFP would be issued within the next few weeks for healthcare consulting. Tom requested volunteers to be on the committee.
