RETIREMENT & BENEFIT SERVICES DIVISION MEMORANDUM

TO THE HEADS OF ALL STATE AGENCIES

The Retirement & Benefit Services Division is pleased to announce the creation of a Division webpage within the Office of the State Comptroller's (OSC) website for access by state agency staff and the expansion and refinement of OSC website access to Division retirement and benefits information for employees, retirees and the general public. This new design clearly distinguishes information for retirees from that of active employees. This approach will provide retirees with direct access to programs and forms available to and for retirees only. The new design includes:

• a Retirement Payroll Information webpage that provides retirees with the retirement check mailing schedule and an email address for direct contact with the Division's Retirement Payroll Unit;
   
• for the public, on-line access to actuarial reports for the retirement systems administered by the Division is now provided;
   
• for state agencies, contact phone numbers, and email addresses where applicable, by Divisional Unit are provided along with some descriptions of Unit responsibilities;
   
• and for those state agencies that employ individuals in classifications designated as covered under the hazardous duty provisions of the State Employees Retirement System, interactive access to the Hazardous Duty Appendix created pursuant to the 1988 - 1994 Pension Arbitration Award is now available. Agencies may browse the appendix on-line, print reports or download the data to their personal computers.

This is just the first step in our effort to make retirement and benefits information readily accessible; we intend to continue to refine and improve this access. In that connection, we encourage you to share this information with your colleagues and contact Division staff if you have any suggestions or questions regarding the web information.
