SEPARATION PROCEDURES:

MAKE A CALL! ...

Immediately following the separation of an employee, regardless of the reason, a call should be made to the TALX UC eXpressSM "Employee Separations Reporting Line", by dialing 1-800-366-6690. The call must be made from a touchtone telephone. The system will request information about the separation which you will key through your telephone. The system can be accessed 24 hours per day/7 days per week.

INFORMATION NEEDED FOR CALL�
  • Your Parent Identification Number which is 12523.
  • Numeric State Code (Connecticut #07)
  • Last Day Separated Employee Worked
  • Termination Code
  • Occurrence Dates (if indicated as a requirement for the termination code)
  • Additional Monies Paid at Termination (if indicated as a requirement for the termination code)

HOW TO ENTER DATA PROPERLY�
  • If multiple separations are to be entered, the system will return you to step #3
  • If the system receives no response within 16 seconds after the voice prompt, the voice prompt will be reissued. The same will occur if an invalid response is received. If either of these situations occurs more than twice, you will be given the options to try again, be transferred to our technical support department or hang up.
  • If the line is disconnected prior to confirmation (step #12), the separation(s) will be loaded to TALX UC eXpressSM database.
  • Pressing the pound key (#), then 2, immediately after a prompt returns you to the previous step, discards the entry at that step, and reissues the prompt. Subsequent steps are skipped and entries at those steps discarded.

WHAT TO DO WITH STATE UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIM FORMS�

1) When you receive any unemployment claim form, look for the date by which the form must be returned to the State.

2) If there are seven days or more, send to TALX UC eXpressSM P.O. Box 283, St. Louis, MO, 63132

3) If there are six days or less, for assistance call Chris Mayercin 800-848-0287x3097, the Unemployment Insurance Consultant (UIC) assigned to our account or email, cmayercin@talx.com In an out-of-time situation complete the form and send the original to the state agency and a copy to TALX UC eXpressSM.

WHEN A PERSON REFUSES RE-EMPLOYMENT�

If an offer of work is refused by a former employee, call TALX UC eXpressSM on the same day the refusal occurs. Please furnish the type of work, hours of employment, rate of pay offered, date on which employment would have started and the reason for the refusal.

WHEN THERE IS A LABOR DISPUTE�

In the event of work stoppage due to a labor dispute, call TALX UC eXpressSM immediately. Please furnish the exact nature of the labor dispute (i.e. work stoppage initiated by union or employer), the beginning date and issues involved. TALX UC eXpressSM will determine the protest rights applicable for each state and notify the appropriate state agencies.

WHEN THERE IS A MASS LAYOFF�

In the event of a reduction in the work force involving multiple employees, call TALX UC eXpressSM immediately. Please furnish the name, social security number, last day worked, expected date of return and separation payments for each employee involved. This information may be provided in list form in lieu of using the Employee Separations Reporting Line.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET A HEARING NOTICE�

1) Determine the date by which an appeal must be filed or the date of the hearing.

2) If there are seven days or more, mail to TALX UC eXpressSM.

3) If there are six days or less, call TALX UC eXpressSM and ask for the hearings coordinator for your account. The hearing coordinator currently assigned to your account is Chris Mayercin. She can be reached at 800-848-0287, ext. 3097 or email at cmayercin@talx.com
