Connecticut Probate Judges & Employees Retirement System (PJERS)

WELCOME TO PJERS!

Connecticut's Probate Judges & Employees Retirement System (PJERS) is the public pension plan provided by the State of Connecticut for Judges and employees of the Connecticut Probate Court System. The Probate Judges and Employees Retirement Fund was established under Public Act 67-558 and became effective on January 1, 1968 and is governed by Connecticut General Statutes Title 45a, Chapter 801, Part III.

The Connecticut State Employees Retirement Commission, housed for administrative purposes in the Retirement Services Division of the Office of the State Comptroller, is responsible for the administration of the Probate Judges and Employees Retirement System; the State Treasurer is the custodian of the Fund and invests the monies for the exclusive benefit of the retirement system. At the direction of the Commission, an actuarial valuation of the system is performed biennially and the Commission certifies to the State Treasurer the amount of monies needed to maintain the actuarial funding program adopted by the Commission for the retirement system. Copies of the Probate Judges and Employees Retirement System actuarial reports are available on the Office of the State Comptroller's website at http://www.osc.ct.gov/rbsd/reports/index.html.
