A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

PRESENT:

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant.

CALL TO ORDER

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:02 am.

Dr. Buchanan motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Sirop at 9:05 am. Members of the Retirement Services Division were allowed to remain.

Dr. Buchanan motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Sirop at 1:34 PM.

TINA BRIDGMAN D- 11513 SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to deny Tina Bridgman's entitlement to a Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

NADINE CALO D- 11527 NON-SERVICE CONNECTED
Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to deny Nadine Calo's entitlement to a Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

CHANTEL CARTER D- 10293 CHANGE TO NON-SERVICE CONNECTED
Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to approve Chantel Carter's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

MAUREEN CEDIO D- 11148 NON-SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION) Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Maureen Cedio's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

PASQUALE DAGOSTINO D- 11522 SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to approve Pasquale Dagostino's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

NANCY DANIEL D- 11401 NON-SERVICE CONNECTED
Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to approve Nancy Daniel's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

MANEDA GATLING D- 11169 NON-SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to approve Maneda Gatling's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to deny Edward Lapointe's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

JANICE MCLEAN D- 11214 NON-SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Janice McLean's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved by majority decision. Dr. Drazinic dissents.

Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to deny Susan Medlar's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Lorraine Milano's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Kimberly Murzyn's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Sirop moved, seconded by Dr. Drazinic, to approve Rosa Palomo's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.
