MEDICAL EXAMINING BOARD

A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition of each Disability Retirement applicant.

CALL TO ORDER

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:18 am.

Dr. Samson motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Croteau at 9:19 am. Members of the Retirement Services Division were allowed to remain.

Dr. Samson motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Croteau at 1:20 pm.

BONITA BARTELL D- 11160 SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Croteau moved, seconded by Dr. Singer, to approve Bonita Bartell'S entitlement to Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

WALTER BERTOTTI D- 11254 NON-SERVICE CONNECTED
Dr. Croteau moved, seconded by Dr. Singer, to approve Walter Bertotti'S entitlement to Non-Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved by majority. Dr. Samson dissents.

JAMES DANIELS D- 11031 SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Croteau moved, seconded by Dr. Singer, to approve James Daniels'
entitlement to Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved by unanimously.

Dr. Croteau moved, seconded by Dr. Singer, to stand by the Board'S previous decision to deny Sharon Giguere'S entitlement to Non-Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

THOMAS GRIFFEN D- 11032 SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Croteau moved, seconded by Dr. Singer, to deny Thomas Griffen'S entitlement to Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Singer moved, seconded by Dr. Samson, to deny Anthony Guerrera'S entitlement to Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved by majority. Dr. Croteau dissents.

Dr. Croteau moved, seconded by Dr. Singer, to approve Yvonne Henry'S entitlement to Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

entitlement to Non-Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Croteau moved, seconded by Dr. Singer, to stand by the Board'S previous decision to deny Cheryl McCann'S entitlement to Non-Service Connected Disability Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.
