Public Invited to Attend Wreaths Across America Tribute At State Capitol Dec. 8

In honor of Connecticut military service members serving, injured or killed in action, the public is invited to help welcome the Wreaths Across America convoy to the State Capitol in Hartford on Tuesday December 8 at 5:30 p.m.

Wreaths Across America is a non-profit organization that annually transports thousands of memorial wreaths from its headquarters in Maine to Arlington National Cemetery, where they are placed on soldiers' graves. The ceremony at the Capitol will be one of the major stops along the route, which also includes events in New York City, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

State Comptroller Nancy Wyman and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal will co-host the ceremony, which will be held in the North Lobby of the Capitol and emceed by SFC Debbi Newton of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
