COMPTROLLER LEMBO: 2015 CT STATE EMPLOYEES' CAMPAIGN FOR CHARITABLE GIVING LAUNCHES TODAY WITH NEW ONLINE DONATION PORTAL

Wednesday, August 12, 2015
Comptroller Kevin Lembo announced that the 2015 Connecticut State Employees' Campaign for Charitable Giving (CSEC) begins today - featuring a new online donation portal where state employees and retirees can easily donate online for the first time.

Lembo, the 2015 statewide campaign chair, will attend a kick-off event today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the east side of the State Capitol. Those who cannot make the kick-off event should visit the campaign's new website and "Like" the new Facebook page here:

"Connecticut state employees and retirees have a long history of charitable giving - contributing millions to provide shelter for the homeless, environmental protections, important medical research and care for children and seniors," Lembo said. "Last year alone, the CSEC raised $1.39 million from state employee and retiree donations. As the 2015 campaign chair, I am determined to make this a record year - propelled by our new online donation portal that gives employees and retirees an easy option to contribute."

Today's CSEC kick-off event at the capitol will include free food samples, live performances, a display of Harley Davidson Motorcycles - and representatives from several participating CSEC charities available to answer questions about the great programs and services that they provide in the community, Lembo said.
