TO THE HEADS OF ALL STATE AGENCIES

Attention: Chief Fiscal and Administrative Officers, Business Managers, and Payroll and Personnel Officers
Subject: Clarification of Memorandum No. 98-27 - Revision to Travel Procedures - Phase I
  1. PURPOSE

    The purpose of this memorandum is to amend the memorandum dated June 15, 1998. The rail travel was stated incorrectly and a change in the parking permit process has occurred.

  2. TRAVEL BY RAIL

    Page 5, Sec. VII-C, of the memorandum should have read: Employee travel by rail can be reserved through Sanditz Business Travel Services. Agencies must adhere to established procurement policies.

  3. PARKING PERMITS FOR BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

    Page 5, Sec. VIII, of the memorandum is amended to read: For state employees parking at Bradley International Airport on state-related business, the parking permits will no longer be distributed by the Comptroller's Office .

    New parking permits are being printed and will be available through the Department of Transportation on July 17, 1998 by contacting Ms. Beverly Presnell at (860) 594-2276. The authorized agency representative should call Ms. Presnell in advance to order Parking Permits for their agency.

    The agency is responsible for insuring that the Parking Permit is only used for official State travel. The agency must enter the Agency Name, Travel Authorization Number and an Expiration Date on the Parking Permit when it is issued to the employee. The expiration date should be one day after the scheduled return date. The employee using the parking permit must print their name on the permit and sign the permit before they present it to the parking attendant when they exit the parking lot.

    If agencies need parking permits for employees traveling on state-related business prior to July 17, 1998, parking permits will be available through the Comptroller's Office.
