Attention:	Chief Administrative and Fiscal Officers, Business Managers, and Payroll and Personnel Officers
Subject:	Revision of Maximum Per Diem Rates for Localities

The federal per diem rates stated in Memorandum 95-8 have been revised for travel in the Continental United States effective April 1, 1996. New per diem localities have been added. Federal per diem rates for meals and incidental expenses are $26, $30, $34, and $38 dependent on the locality. A detailed listing of all localities in the Continental United States is attached in the revised Appendix A. Any collective bargaining meals, per diem and incidental expenses exceeding the applicable rate are reportable.

Per diem localities with county definitions shall include "all locations within, or entirely surrounded by, the corporate limits of the key city as well as the boundaries of the listed counties, including independent entities located within the boundaries of the key city and the listed counties".
