Subject: Settlement of Airline Antitrust Class Action Lawsuit

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has announced the settlement of an airline antitrust class action lawsuit filed by the State Attorneys General for the fifty states, the District of Columbia and certain territories. As a result of this settlement, beginning August 8, l995, all state and local governmental entities will receive a 10% discount on domestic airline tickets for official government business.

The following major and regional commuter airlines are participating.

This discount will continue for l8 months or until the value of all discounts applied to eligible government entities equals $40,000,000.

The State of Connecticut's travel provider, which is BTI Americas, Inc., is aware of the settlement and, therefore, when ordering an airline ticket for state travel, you will not have to take any action. The 10% discount will automatically be reflected in the cost of the ticket ordered until the end of the program.

Please note that companion tickets for non-official state travel will not receive this special discount.
