MEMORANDUM NO. 95 - 7

TO THE HEADS OF ALL STATE AGENCIES

Attention:Chief Administrative and Fiscal Officers, Business
Managers, Payroll and Personnel Officers
Subject: Rates for Institutional Meals and Housing, P-1 and NP-6
Health Care Employees
  1. AUTHORITY

    The recently-approved Agreement between the State of Connecticut and the subject P-1 and NP-6 Bargaining Units provides for the following rates.

  1. Meals (Article 41, Section 1)
  1. The rates charged to employees for meals shall be as follows:
Effective Date
7/01/94
Breakfast$ 3.00
Lunch 5.00
Dinner 5.00
  1. The State expressly reserves the right to provide or not to provide meals to any employee who is not in "loco parentis" status and to terminate such services with sixty (60) days notice.

  1. Housing (Article 41, Section 2)

    1. Effective February 3, 1995, there shall be a 20% increase in the amount charged to employees occupying state-owned housing.
    2. Effective July 1, 1995, there shall be an additional 10% increase in housing rates.
    3. Effective July 1, 1996, there shall be an additional 10% increase in housing rates.

  2. PAYROLL PROCEDURES

Existing payroll procedures will apply. For coding instructions, please refer to the Comptroller's Statewide Payroll System Procedures Manual as follows:

  1. Plus Maintenance - Appendix 1, Other Earnings, Page AP1.8; or

  2. Rent - Appendix 2, Deductions, Page AP2.72.

    The increases of an additional 10% on July 1, 1995 (8 days at old rate/6 days at new rate) and again on June 30, 1996 (10 days at old rate/4 days at new rate) will also require split pay periods.
