Incorrect
Letter
From
Anthem
to State Retirees

Recent letters sent by Anthem, without the knowledge or approval of the Office of the State Comptroller, incorrectly suggested that certain state retirees would be disenrolled from medical coverage. These Anthem notices are incorrect. Anyone who received such notice should disregard it.

Medicare-eligible retirees and dependents previously covered through Anthem were enrolled into a new Medicare Advantage plan through UnitedHealthcare® effective January 1, 2018 - with zero lapse in coverage.

State retirees or dependents who are Medicare-eligible are already enrolled in UnitedHealthcare's Medicare Advantage plan.

Please disregard any letter from Anthem suggesting that you have been disenrolled from coverage as a result of this transition.

Again, we apologize for the confusion and concern that may have been caused by the incorrect notice you received.
