TO THE HEADS OF ALL STATE AGENCIES

Attention: Chief Administrative and Fiscal Officers, Business Managers, and Payroll and Personnel Officers
Subject:    Increase in the Maximum Dues/Fees Deduction, District 1199, New England Health Care Employees Union, P-1 and NP-6 Bargaining Units

 I. PURPOSE

To provide payroll instructions for a change to the dues/fees schedule for the P-1 and NP-6 bargaining units.

II. AUTHORITY

In accordance with the request of the New England Health Care Employees Union, the dues/fees deduction for P-1 and NP-6 bargaining unit employees will increase effective with the pay period December 28, 2001 through January 10, 2002 (check date January 25, 2002).

III. NEW DUES/FEES SCHEDULE

Bi-Weekly Deductions:
0-19.99 hours paid for two weeks  .46 hour's pay
20-39.99 hours paid for two weeks .46 hour's pay + $2.77
40-59.99 hours paid for two weeks .69 hour's pay + $2.77
60 hours or more paid for two weeks .92 hour's pay + $2.77
The maximum bi-weekly dues payment for each employee is $19.38.

IV. PAYROLL PROCEDURES

The agency payroll staff just review the Employee Masterfile (Salary Field) to determine if the dues/fees deduction must be changed.
 
Dues will be based on the hours paid in the week used for the calculation of dues. The method for the calculation of dues will remain the same. The hourly rate for the calculation of dues will be based on the employee's compensation plan excluding premiums such as shift differential and weekend differential overtime.
 
If it is necessary to change an employee's deduction, enter:
 
RK Transaction; Screens 170-187; D/OE 76 for union dues, D/OE 77 for union fees.
 
RJE agencies: RK Transaction; Same as above.
